Posting another set of images I photographed featuring my Swedish friend and fellow blogger Sania - who also happens to be a fashion stylist at the oldest fashion publication in Scandanavia  - Damernas Värld. Can you pick which character in a wildly popular TV show was the inspiration for these images?

Outfit credits on Sania's blog soon.

Season's Wishes

If I was much classier and had a much fatter bank account then I would surely be dressed like this on Christmas day. As if happens I'll probably be wearing my dad's tracksuit pants with a 'wifebeater',  feeding my face furiously, drinking 2L of wine and falling asleep at 8.30pm. Ho ho ho!!!

We don't really do Christmas Markets in Australia... because who really wants to sit in the sun and try and sell ham in the middle of summer? Therefore, the markets at Skansen in Stockholm were a major treat for me - I'm a sucker for traditions and history. The market is filled with quaint wooden stalls at Christmas, selling old time Swedish wares like pepparkakor (gingersnaps), smoked elk and deer, saffron buns and my personal favourite glögg which is like mulled wine but seemingly stronger (i'm drinking some pictured - so warming!!).  You can sample the wares as you wander around and then take a break to warm to feet and fingers by one of the many open fires. The remainder of the year Skansen usually holds concerts and has some kind of traditional swedish village meets animal park vibe. Love seeing the Great Grey Owls - they are so beautiful and mysterious.

I'm obviously dressed pretty practically, being that it was drizzling for almost my entire visit. It makes my hair so curly! My Doc Martens I've had for around 5-6 years now and they are still kicking along - and still look pretty new. Such quality - if I head back to Northern Europe in the New Year I'm buying another pair... unfortunately they no longer do this style in black patent but they still have the cherry and matt colour HERE. I first spotted them on one of my favourite style icons Chloe Sevigny in that style HERE, thus the reason for the purchase in the first place! They are so comfortable and that heel kinda makes me feel like I can walk in from the snow, straight into a meeting. I'm also really loving new new handbag from Barbara Bonner, that bright green compliments the red tartan and really pulls out an otherwise dark and dull ensemble. Festive!!

Probably won't be posting tomorrow as it's Christmas Day here in Oz and it's going to be all about family - hoping all of you get to share some love and cheer with people you treasure this holiday season!

(I asked Santa for a Wii - fingers crossed!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

It's been a really wild 2013 for me - and I can't believe it's actually drawing to a close. Its a great time to reflect - what made the year great and what things I can improve on - and where I want to be in the coming year. This year has been peppered with milestones - just enough to make the journey exciting and easy enough that I can still stop and smell the roses. So here's the first of a few retrospective posts, starting out with my favourite, a summary of the editorials  I've snapped with my close blogger friends. Each has been an inspiration for me in their own way, with their passion for creativity and drive to succeed, I'm lucky to count having met and collaborated with everyone of them.

Sunsets are always pretty magical when you're paying attention - but when you fly into a city as the sunsets, you can see something truly special. I landed in Stockholm after a load of delays around 2.30pm and captured these pics (except the aerial shot) from the car ride home. It was the only proper snowfall during my whole month long stay in the city - I'm so unlucky! This time last year I know the place was buried in the fluffy white fabulousness.  The downside of being so far North during winter is obviously the extreme lack of daylight, arriving here around 2.30pm to the end of the daylight does feel a little sad - but its beautiful that the sunset seems to carry on for an hour or two.

Feels a bit strange to be posting these images of snow and darkness when I'm in the midst of summertime here in Australia - and tomorrow I'll be posting my pictures from the beach! Guess I'm just damn lucky to have such a diverse range of locations at my disposal. Missing Stockholm though, you know you have a real affinity for a place when your experience is during the wettest and darkest time of the year and you still fall in love with it!

What a vivid and wild dream this year has been! All these places I've had the chance to visit from Canada to Italy, Croatia to Sweden, Holland to the USA and loads of places in between. Though I've had to take a few moments to gather my breath here and there - I never take these experiences for granted. Looking at these pictures inspires me for 2014, a resolve to quest further, push myself to new experiences and take chances and make the most of new relationships. I'm hoping this year to get the chance to explore South America - particularly Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Cuba. Better work hard and save my pennies! Look forward to sharing more journeys with you all xxx

Esperance is an isolated place. It's not really on the way to anywhere else besides the Nullarbor Plain and the town itself isn't exactly a mecca for gourmets or high end tourism - but I can say with pretty profound assurance that this place has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Pristine and wild and rugged, the locale counts 20-30 windswept beaches, with perfect white sand and azure blue water set against a rocky island backdrop, called the Recherché Archipelago. This particular beach is named Wharton Beach and it's my favourite. You can see a more elevated (and unfiltered!) view from my instagram HERE. I spent many summer's here as a kid, my family lived on a farm nearby. These images are from Boxing Day where I joined some friends and their families, drinking cider and wine and eating Christmas leftovers. It got up to 32 degrees so intermittent dashes into the cold water were a necessity! It made me feel so nostalgic, it's really special to share such a beautiful place with only a few people local to the area. During the winter you could come here and virtually have the whole place to yourself (it's a bit to cold to swim though, those southern ocean currents bring a chill all the way from Antartica) and you can drive along this beach for a km or so then over the hill onto the next one. So lucky to have grown up in a place like this! Unfortunately I will never move back to Esperance - I don't think this little town could support enough business for a fashion photographer!

Ever since I first spotted my babe Mandy rocking these Celine sneaks I haven't been able to get them off my mind... Now the style is trending hard and so many designer brands are popping up with their own versions... now I'm stuck with which to buy!! So damn practical.

Looking back at my year of dressing...and my style tends to hop around a bit on themes don't you think? But maybe thats exactly the way it should be! I am a fan of trends in fashion but would describe myself as a woman of instinct, preferring to take style influences from all around me. Something inside me also kinda hates being part of trends that really hit the mainstream hard. As a kid I was quite the loner and prided myself in being unique, being an original rather than following the crowd. There's always an exception to the rule - but I'm never been afraid of being different. That's my favourite part of fashion and the way people dress! Everyone has their own interpretation of style, it's all about creativity. So thinking outside the box can really draw you to a winning styling combination - and don't be afraid of making a few mistakes.... Even in this summary I've failed to include a couple looks because.... What was I thinking??! Haha! No regrets though, there's no fun in taking yourself too seriously.

One of my New Years resolutions is to post more outfits, trying to get a regular schedule with them - I know you all want to see more! I'm sorry I can't get so much up! The trouble is - I'm a really low maintenance girl. I don't usually wear make-up or do my hair - so when I'm busy its scruffiness with jeans and a t-shirt. Not exactly glamourous content! Thankfully I've got wildly stylish and perpetually elegant blogger friend like Jess and Nicole who encourage me to be slightly less blasé about dressing.

Thanks again to all of your for following me, for encouraging me and driving me to push myself. Love you all!

I rarely have the fortune of being able to visit my parents (pictured!) as the town I grew up in is very isolated, a long flight from Sydney to Perth and then a 750km drive south east to the coast is always a mission costing precious time and money. That being said - I'll never miss a Christmas if I can help it and this year was no exception. It was a real treasure to be in the loving presence of my family and have home cooked meals, daily walks on the beach with the family dog.  Thanks Mum for snapping these pics, the wild and woolly conditions were not idea for decent hair shots but we managed these two. Not really an outfit I would usually bother to feature - mainly because I'm wearing my cosy First Base shorts that are slightly too big but being that I've only just returned from Sweden, they are the only summer appropriate 'bottoms' I have. Must get another shot of this Life with Bird leather jacket - so you can see what a great shape it is.

Hemera... coming soon.

A long while back (i'm talking maybe over a year) I held a casting at the beach for a special project, a swimwear/model feature. Time caught up with me and by the time I found the chance to edit the entire shoot I realise I had misplaced the files. I couldn't find them for the life of me! I was absolutely positive I left them on my "Poseidon" hard drive but they weren't there. Months later they I found them on a long forgotten small hard drive I thought I had wiped and transferred onto a different hard drive... anyway! I put off the editing because I needed days to do so - once I start something I need to sit through until completion. So finally I've gotten around to editing my favourite pics from the entire shoot (it was around 25-30 models). Trouble is I can't remember the names of all the girls! Agencies are closed now so I'll need to wait a couple days before I can place proper credits... for now, though I'm a little embarrassed at my story, I'm putting up this preview. It's easily the largest editorial I've ever under taken. See the rest coming soon! Better late than never... ;)

I'm so excited to feature these images snapped by fellow blogger/photographer Rami Hanna in Stockholm. I had the chance to meet Rami there while I was staying there and pick his brain on the local industry. It was a unique opportunity because we both sort of do the exact same job - fashion and streetstyle photographers who run blogs and shoot other bloggers.... though Rami has also ventured into video now and I'm looking forward to seeing some more of his work on that front.  His streetstyle also has an unmistakeable aesthetic and he's done some great photoshoots with all the biggest and best Swedish bloggers like Angelica and Kenza. Was such fun to chat and gossip with Rami on all things blogging and pictures - some great inspiration too! Especially since I'm almost 10 years older - really makes me feel like I ought to pick up my game ahah! Don't forget to check out Rami Hanna and his stellar blog.

Glad I still have this content to share because the streetstyle will always be some of my favourite work - I love the energy of it! I haven't really been able to shoot many outfit posts recently because I have barely any summer clothing with me. Arrived back in Sydney and staying near the beach with a friend, most of my clothes are in storage and I can't reach them. Gratefully I received this Equipment shirt and this cute Watson x Watson bikini in the mail a couple days ago so I have some fresh pieces that are seasonally appropriate. Great to score some beach time in Tamarama and be able to walk home - can you believe I've lived in sydney around 9 years and never lived even close to the coast?! What have I been thinking!! Guess I'll always love the cafe culture of the Inner Western Suburbs. I've got two more weeks left in Sydney then its back to Europe for more projects and for Fashion Week. Really can't sit still! By now most naturally... the constant moving around is getting to me. Time to find somewhere to get settled, find a routine. Get a kitten!!! (i wish)

Posting another series from my collection of streetstyle images remaining from both Paris and Milan - shot whilst I was there in September as part of my role as Guest Editor for US retailer Nordstrom. I love love love shooting street style. Not only is there  the thrill of capturing that perfect moment but seeing all the ways the fashion crowd interpret trends into personal style is truly inspiring. It can come in such a huge variety of ways, and guessing the influences and brands is a challenge all part of the fun. Can't believe I'll be back there next month!

I have and always will love the 70's style of dressing - trends aside - I just always feel right in that colourful style, bit of a flare here, alot of fun colour. These days I never feel like being super dressed up. When I arrive back in Europe next month I'll be taking a leaf out of my girl  Camille's book and surviving in sneakers. Mostly because that as a creative, sneakers are mean you're here for business, to get things done- so glad they are trending! Who can honestly run errands in a pair of heels? Thats not healthy! So one of my news year's resolutions is clearly related to efficiency and practicality. The real challenge will be about being stylish while doing so... I'd have to say 70-80 percent of the time I get dressed in the morning the result is most definitely not 'blogworthy', working out of my office means cosy tracks and tee's... but I need content for my blog! Style it up Zanita!!

While on the topic of offices, I need a desk space to rent for two weeks in Stockholm next month - anyone got any leads? Would love your help!

Dragged up these images from NYFW, kinda forgot I had them in all the chaos post fashion month. Missing all my blogging friends so much - and these two are hard to pin down. Really hoping to catch some gigs in New York asap so I can hang out with Carolina again - and thrilled to be seeing Camille in London next month. Meanwhile I'm making the most of my days left here in Sydney, staying by the coast and doing my best to get some exercise under my belt before I plunge into some real cold - making an official move to Europe next month! So much to do before then, constantly making lists - today it's all day meetings so unfortunately my lists won't be getting shorter. Time to get up and get going!!

Posting this outfit from yesterday and feeling down because waking up this morning I have a serious cold. I don't get sick so often but for some reason I only ever catch a cold during the hottest parts of summer! So terrible to feel congested and have a headache or fever while lying in a steaming hot bedroom. No rest for the wicked... I have some meetings today - which I'll be arriving to baring my cross - don't come close! Yesterday I was a smiling picture of health - how much can change in a day....

I'm running out of a content now. It seems I've always got something in the bank, I'm always shooting on the go - meeting bloggers or doing some modelling gig.... but this is definitely the first time in awhile I seem to have no content on the back burner. Meaning it's time to get behind the lens!! I'm thinking an editorial for my blog is well overdue... so hopefully I can plan something in the coming weeks. Feeling inspired in this brand new year to push myself further and work harder - extend myself beyond my own limitations.

So here are some images I snapped back in Stockholm of my gorgeous and incredibly stylish friend Sania. Hope to catch her again next month for more features! Can't say how much I love shooting other bloggers, so proud of each of the girls on the otherside of my lens for what they have created and their hard work. Please check out what Sania is all about HERE, you won't be disappointed.
