5 Ways to Pay It Forward

$

Outfit-128dDo your soul a favour. Pay it forward! Your soul is a hungry little beastie and needs feeding regularly. Sometimes people believe that you can feed your soul by treating yourself – by ordering extra cheese on your pizza or spending the whole day in bed watching netflix or by buying new shoes on a friday afternoon. That’s the wrong food for your soul! It gives your soul gas.

It would be so great if we could give real time and cash to charity – but for most of us, that isn’t possible. By contributing in small ways we can collectively make a difference and give your soul the food it needs.

Eat vegetarian.

I’m not saying become a vegetarian (I’m not one) but by simply cutting back your meat intake, you’re doing a small part to aid the environment – by stemming the demand for meat, which isn’t a very environmentally friendly food source. Cow farts cause a significant amount of our green house gases. FACT.

Donate blood.

Yeah ouch and ew right? But it doesn’t cost a damn thing to give blood and your could literally be a direct contributor to saving someone’s life. That’s mind blowing! So do your best and suck it up, donate some blood (if you’re eligible) and you could also get a free milkshake. I got a banana one last time and it was the bomb.

Pay an unexpected compliment.

This one is about passing around good vibes. Good vibes are invisible and can be passed from person without any sacrifice of good vibes on one’s own part. A good friend of mine once told me – A candle doesn’t lose any of it’s flame by lighting another candle. Go light up some people – with compliments!

Donate some of your good clothes to charity...

then also buy from charity thrift stores! I have so much clothes and getting rid of them can be totally cleansing… it’s tempting to be a total hoarder and keep all the loveliest pieces in the ‘maybe’ pile – but give away some of the good stuff too, if you can. It could be that one piece that makes someone feel confident at a job interview – or that piece that is worth a little more dough to the charity.

Be a courteous driver/passenger.

I’m often the silent rager, swearing under my breath as I’m cut off trying to merge… but getting in the car with a positive attitude and giving way to another could be just the good juju that someone else needs on their commute. Same also goes with public transport, give your seat to someone else who might have a heavy bag or looks like they just need a break – the universe will smile!

Yay! Soul Party!

Anyway – I’m wearing a jazzy outfit here, no one can accuse me of being a minimalist huh?

A little bittersweet – this is the very last post I’ll be presenting that’s snapped on my street in Sweden. Gustav and I have moved into a new apartment, can’t wait to share some home decoration adventures in the future!

Outfit-112e-1024x648I’m so excited to be going on this trip with you! I might be only 29 – but I’ve certainly enjoyed a #lifewelltravelled, filled with meaningful and rewarding experiences. It’s made up who I am today, stronger and happier – and excited to learn and travel even more!

Have you ever been to Hong Kong? I’ve had the chance to visit twice, but both times have been fleeting visits – and there’s so much to see I’m thrilled to go again and we are flying in style with Cathay!

zbw2This city is famous for it’s food, maybe you shouldn’t eat too much in the lead up because we have a lot to get through. Being an Aussie, I’m a huge fan of Cantonese food and it’s something I’m pretty deprived of in my travels, it’s near impossible to find throughout mainland Europe. We’re going to be taking part in a Culinary Journey – which is like a ‘pub crawl’ but with food – so you’re not going to feel terrible in the morning! Haha!

I like to think of myself as a pretty good (awesome!) cook – but Cantonese food is one cuisine I’ve never even attempted. We’re signed up for a Dim Sum cooking class at the Peninsula Academy (at the Iconic Peninsula Hotel), so the challenge is on! I’m going to out-dumpling you for sure. Bring it ;)

Hong Kong is a colourful city so I’m looking forward to snapping some great shots for a photo diary – and also to do a video for my youtube channel. My last photo diary from Marrakech was one of the more popular posts I’ve ever done – sharing travel through photography is my passion. I hope you’re not camera shy!

I learn so much from travelling, and hatch some of my greatest ideas and find wonderful inspiration. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you better and sharing some thoughts. You can learn so much about yourself from being outside your comfort zone, it’s how I found my confidence and learnt my path. I’m sure this trip is going to be rich with experience, make sure to enjoy a glass of Champagne on your flight to get in the mood for a wonderful stay in Hong Kong!

Sincerely,

Zanita :)

Ok – so I we haven’t actually chosen a winner yet! But if you’re an Aussie – you can find out how to enter the #LifeWellTravelled Competition HERE and join me on an incredible adventure in Hong Kong. Please don’t miss out! There’s so much to see and I’m so thrilled to have the chance to travel with one of YOU.

Happy and acclimatising to be in Australia –  you might get sick of me saying this, but I’m very very busy while I’m here! So I’m doing my absolutely best to get on top of posting, trying to prepare enough content to keep my blog alive for you all.

My next two weeks are going to be pretty adventurous, jam packed with days of shooting and filming. Fashion Bloggers Season 2 is officially in full swing – I’m super excited to be working with new cast member Nadia, as well as Sara, Mandy and Kate who I’ve missed so much! I wish I could share all the incredible things we are going to be doing this season –  but of course – I’ll get in trouble if I spill too much.  Follow my insta for super hints :)

So how super cute is my sweater? It’s by Aussie Icon, Jenny Kee. Koala chic!! I really wanted to wear this sweater in NYC but it was way too cold… actually had the same problem with a whole load of pieces I brought along. The plight of being practical.

Meanwhile – Have you seen my NYFW Video??? Was so fun to make!

Thrilled to be sharing these images, a little something I shot with Nicole for Ralph Lauren whilst the pair of us were in NYC for Fashion Week. It’s pretty tough to convey how challenging it was to get these images and full credit has to go to Nicole for how brave she was in the wind and the minus 10 degree (celcius) weather – still managing to look graceful for these shots is quite the feat! We even had a guy on the street approach us and donate hand warmer pads to our team! Myself as the photographer, fully clothed in a warm coat and scarf found the whole thing near unbearable. Looking at these makes me feel like it was worth it though!

We really only had about 1.5 hours to shoot as I had to rush off to the airport – I so wish we could have continued and snapped even more because I feel like we were onto a good thing. Nicole and I have vowed to shoot again, at the next opportunity that our where schedules meet. Hopefully we can bring it even further!

In all honesty, I haven’t had a chance to watch an episode of that TV Series but I’m sure I’d love it. I wish there wasn’t so much good tv available these days! We could all get so much more done.

I really want to include more in this post, but as I’ve whined about here on my blog before, I can’t write well when I’m tired. I’m really a morning person, today I woke at 5.30am… granted I had a 7am call time. I’m bushed! Plus I have another 7am call time tomorrow…  I’ve taken on a very exciting Brand Ambassador role which I can’t wait to share with you. It’s a real honour to be recognised by this brand.

Glad I snapped a few outfit posts in my last week in Stockholm to share with you – right now I don’t even have a moment to breath and create anything new. I’m wearing vibrant orange Acne tracksuits pants here – I’m all about a tracksuit/heels combo! Such a fun pairing alongside my bag – designed my talented Perth based friend, Poppi Lissiman.

Hope you’ve all had an awesome weekend – and thanks soon kindly for all your generous comments on my last post. It’s what drives me to push myself further with every shoot! You’re the best :)

My Top 5 Quotes for Positivity

Outfit-34a Outfit-40d Outfit-25d Outfit-19d Outfit-13f

I’ll forever be a fan of a good quote about positivity –  because beyond mental health problems that we can’t change with just ‘happy thoughts’ like depression –  I believe we can take control of our own moods. Being positive is really a series of thought processes, it’s the reason why people who voice their complaints are less happy (and less fun to be around) than those who see the light in tough situations. It’s a pretty common misconception that people are happier when they find wealth and career success, when they find an attractive partner or get a new car – but happiness is really about a mindset. I know plenty of people who appear to have it all but aren’t content with their lives. It’s all about setting your view, taking control of your perspective.

So often I need to work in team of people, long days and other challenges can really demean the collective mood. My goal in these circumstances is to ensure I’m not the weakest link – meaning – provided I’m the one giving positive energy and not negative – I can not only share good feelings with my team but also get that energy reflected back upon me, making the whole ordeal much easier to handle.  I guess it’s a kind of super power too – sharing good positivity and energy! You almost always get the feeling back – and if not – at least you haven’t sat around wallowing in self pity or contributed to someone else having a bad day.

Anyway, here’s my top five quotes about positivity. They can be a great boost when you feel your mood slipping!!

Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture gray, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up. Allen Klein

The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity. Benjamin Franklin

What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Our attitude toward it. Every opportunity has a difficulty, and every difficulty has an opportunityJ. Sidlow Baxter

Our beliefs about what we are and what we can be precisely determine what we can be. Anthony Robbins

You are the sum total of everything you’ve ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot – it’s all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive. Maya Angelou

The internet can be a wealth of positive influence – so if you’re ever feeling flat – sometimes the right kind of google search can be all you need! I hope you like some of my favourite quotes – and here’s to you having some great thoughts headed into this week!

xx

Keep It Simple

Posting today from on set of an editorial shoot, having the chance to work alongside my girl Sara and with one of Australia’s most talented fashion photographers, Simon Lekias. This shoot is due for release on the 26th so I’ll be able to share all really soon. It’s pretty rare in fashion for there to be such a tight turn around, I remember in my modelling days – if I shot for a magazine or a brand there would usually be about a 3 month waiting period for the images to be released. I would usually forget the shoots were due for release and they would catch me by surprise!

Hopefully I’ll have time this week to shoot some videos for my youtube – I’m planning on getting a ‘day in my life’ video happening and hopefully a collab video with Sara, I just need to convince her to take part. Maybe after a nice glass of wine!

The rest of my week is filled with shooting/filming everyday. No rest for the wicked!

Checking In: Life Update

Clearly-1I’ve reached another long day here in Sydney full of adventures. The last week I’ve been drilled with 12 hour + days, the work itself has been challenging but loads of fun. If you’re an Australian, expect to see me on some TV Commercials soon! Can you believe that? If someone told me my past weeks schedule a year ago, I would have told them to take a long walk off a short pier (for being a big fat liar). I figured out just this evening i’ve maybe been pushing myself a little too hard though, my hands were shaking a little as I tried to do some fine editing on some pictures – so I decided to take a rest. Enjoying some music now as I write this post and relaxing in my room. Hanging out alone is one of my favourite ways to chill out… though I wish someone would come and tidy my room for me.

I simply can not be assed.

Do you guys know Chloe Morello? She’s one of Australia’s most successful beauty Vloggers and an epic beauty. I had the chance to meet her properly today – and I can vouch she’s just as funny and fabulous as she is in her videos. Lucky me! Unfortunately you’re going to have to wait till season 2 of Fashion Bloggers gets underway before you truly understand what went down. So mysterious.

Gladly tomorrow isn’t so crazy, I finish my official work duties around two. I plan on coming home afterwards, putting on pyjamas and watching youtube videos in bed. The life!!

Next week is my birthday (29!) so I’m headed back to Sweden for a short time to chill out (aka move apartment) and hang out with Gustav who I’m missing a whole load. I really don’t want to miss the cherry blossoms this season in Stockholm, it’s so incredible. Makes for the best insta.

How do you like my GIF? Pretty intense! I’m wearing some shades from online sunglasses/contacts/spectacles retailer Clearly.  I recently modelled in one their new campaigns. Was a blast to be on board :)

Gotta sleep! I’m dead x

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

Outfit-127bWell actually I did stop. Yesterday (Sunday) I had the day off and promised myself I wouldn’t do much – so I sat in bed eating corn chips like a boss (is there any other way to eat corn chips in bed?) and watched youtube for about 60 percent of the day. My favourite Youtubers are all the British posse – who happen to be best buddies like Zoella, Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg, Pointless, Jim Chapman, Tanya Burr … there’s loads more – and then I LOVE Tyler Oakley and Mamrie Hart in THIS VIDEO. So excited to coerce all my blogger friends to do videos with me, especially Sara (coming soon) and Nadia and Chloe. Really inspired by youtube.

I’m writing this post from Mondo Studio, where I’ve got the whole Fashion Blogger’s posse with me and we are having a good ol’ catch-up and it’s so fun. We don’t get so many chances these days to hang out together so it’s so perfect to hang out while at work and talk in between takes about what each of us have been up to. It’s one of the most inspiring things about my job, hearing what kinds of creative projects the other bloggers are doing. These girls are killing it!

Anyway, back to to it! So glad I snapped this outfit before I left Stockholm so I have something to share with ya’ll.

The Five Ways That Travel Can Change Your Life

$

Nookie-16Talking about a #LifeWellTravelled, in collaboration with Cathay Pacific. I’m sure you’ve all caught on to the fact now that I’m a pretty seasoned traveller, I’ve got a well worn passport and a bucket load of experiences under my belt. Travelling means the world to me, it’s given me so much, so many lessons about life. It’s helped me gain an open mind and a better understanding of my place in the world and I’m so lucky and grateful for the opportunities I’ve afforded. The photos here are all taken by me – I’m still so in awe that these are some of the sights I’ve witnessed! Travelling – in what ever means you do it, totally rocks.  Here are 5 reasons why:

1. Experience new cultures.

Appreciating and experiencing the way other people live helps you gain a better understanding of what it means to be human. While people live their lives uniquely all over the world, there’s a common thread of compassion and love through every culture. You can learn new methods of communication and find new ways to bond with people. I remember the first time I had the chance to immerse myself in a new culture was travelling to Thailand when I was 15. I went on a trip with 3 of my school friends on a commemorative tour, along with a group of Australian Ex-POW’s from WW2. We heard first hand stories about their experiences – and they shared how their connection with the local Thai people was what helped them survive their horrific trials. Growing up in a small town I was very sheltered from seeing the different ways people around the world live their lives – in this way, things I didn’t understand, also became things I feared. It was this trip that made me aware of that common thread we share as humans – that people can connect and help one another no matter how we live our lives. It gave me a new appreciation for the varied beauty of culture.

Marrakech-24

HM-Life-222. You become less concerned with material things.

The more you broaden your horizons with travel, the better you can understand what makes a life rich, people and experiences. The value of your possessions can take a back seat to learning and experiencing what the world has to offer. I’m sure you can probably see, I’m guilty of having alot of clothes and nice things – and I’m grateful for that! But nice possessions aren’t wonderful memories – and when I reflect on my life, I don’t recall how much that one Alexander Wang handbag contributed to my life – more like… how great was that sunset? How awesome was it to listen  to music with that loyal friend in this exotic location? How much did I laugh when this hilarious thing happened on that train journey to wherever? I’m actually so blasé about my possessions these days, i tend to give away things to anyone who’ll take them – because so often our possessions can hold us back from being mobile.  If I accidentally lose something, I won’t batt an eyelid because I’d rather enjoy my current circumstance than work myself over something that can’t be retrieved. Travel has given me this perspective and my happiness thanks me for it.

Marrakech-8

Jimmy-113. Become more spontaneous.

Planning at the last minute, taking chances and going with the flow are all part of the fun when it comes to visiting somewhere new. You never know what unexpected thrill could be right around the corner. I remember when Jess (Tuula) and I were travelling in Europe, we were staying in Amsterdam and planning to do some sightseeing. I was researching the cost of train tickets in the local area and I spotted a discount on trains to Berlin, leaving the following morning. We both spontaneously decided to travel for two nights to Germany and on that trip, we made some really cool friends and had an unforgettable time. Maybe it was the spontaneity that made it so exciting! Either way, I’m so glad we took the chance.

Nookie-18

4. Gain perspective.

Sometimes it takes stepping outside your comfort zone and immersing yourself in a new culture to really understand what things in your own life mean the most to you. Travelling keeps you calibrated – the diversity of life is a varied and wonderful thing and the better you understand that, the less you can get caught up on the small stuff.  I love making new connections when I’m travelling, whether it be the taxi DSC_0159driver at the airport, a busker on the street, that person you sit next to on an aeroplane, that girl working a stall on the street. These people all have lives that are so unique – and wherever people come from – there’s always some happiness or goodness to be shared. It’s these connections that put life in perspective and are reminder than everyone has trials – but to search for the positivity is the key for happiness itself.

5. Gain life experience.

Putting yourself in unfamiliar surrounds can so often mean you’re challenged in ways you don’t expect and you’ll meet people you wouldn’t normally cross paths with. Authentic travel experiences can change who you are, they can give your strength and help you see the world in a new light. If there’s one thing travel has taught me – it’s to be more organised – because stress hinders your ability to see the most positive part of any situation.

My years of travelling the world have shaped the person I’ve become today. It`s for this reason I’ve IMG_1763teamed up with Cathay Pacific to share yet another amazing experience, not only through my site but with one you, up close and personal. What I’m saying is – on of my favourite airlines Cathay Pacific are giving one of you the chance to come along with me on the trip of a life time to the incredible and colourful city of Hong Kong!!!

Shannon-2Do you ever look at a picture and wonder how it is that the photographer got that shot? Maybe its just me – but I’m often looking at photos trying to decipher what went on behind the scenes, how many lights and assistants were staring down the model.

Truth is, sometimes it’s simpler than it seems.

My new course is here to pull down the curtains of what it takes to create fashion editorial images, with this photoshoot snapped on the beach in Sydney as your reference point.

The chapters go from start to finish – covering the creation of the idea, the styling, using references, giving the model direction, editing down the imagery – and even the photoshop techniques used, including how you can save and use the same unique filter in your own work. You truly don’t need a whole lot of fancy equipment and designer pieces to create something wonderful – maybe just some ambition and a floaty dress or some vintage denim.

If you’ve ever wanted to see the way I see, this is your ticket!

I hope you enjoy this course as much as I loved making it – for more information and of course, to buy it – click HERE :)

Oh the romance!

Three girls just waiting in a field with all their luggage, no where to go. Someone should write a song about this! But in all seriousness, this was such an exciting shoot to be part of – not only for being considered among such gorgeous company – but also for being acknowledged in the mainstream media as a recognised digital influencer. I have to say, probably the most exciting part of being a fashion blogger is being part of something new that is constantly evolving and adapting with the industry. The days are almost behind us where many online personalities are regarded with suspicion for taking on work and are now regarded as professionals in their own right! The digital landscape is now a big chunk of the future of media, I feel very lucky to be part of it – and proud to count myself among girls like Sara and Mimi who are totally killing.

Thanks so much Who Magazine for having us a part of this very prestigious issue – you can all check out who else made the list for Who Magazine’s Most Beautiful People HERE.

My New Favourite Songs

This might be one of my lazier song recommendation posts, but it’s really just the songs I’m listening to now – I’ve been busy working on details involved in launching the new site… particularly one detail which means Zanita.com has been blocked from Facebook and Instagram for no good reason at all. Working on a resolution! I may have shed a few tears of exasperation this morning. It kinda reminded me how tangible losing my whole business could be if say… the internet died. Jeepers.

So now I’m listening to music to cheer and motivate me!

It’s definitely not the newest and freshing set of tracks I’ve ever put here, some may even be repeats!  With any luck you can be cheered and energised by one of these happy tracks, its all for the cause.

I’m sitting up this evening organising my wardrobe… it’s a monster task. Play those tracks! Fold, hang, repeat.

Boats in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

This is a little lazy of me – I actually published this post a couple years ago, but I wanted to revisit it because it’s actually one of my very favourites. I have quite a fascination with boats, particularly sail boats and yachts. While we staying in Dubrovnik I saw a 5 masted clipper ship – which turned out to be the Royal Clipper – and I nearly wet myself. It was magnificent.

Today Gustav and I are painting in our new apartment, building ikea furniture and unpacking boxes. So much to do!

Hope its ok to share this with you again, boats and my whacky editing.

How To: Squeeze The Best Experiences Out Of Your Holiday

I think one of the great gifts my parents gave to me growing up was a love of travel. When I was a kid, we didn’t have much – but my folks were always sure to take my sister on trips all over the countryside, where we would stay with family and friends and get to know different towns, meet new people.

My parents always told me that travel made us wealthy – and they were so right.

You really don’t need loads of dough to have an enriching travel experience. Years ago I spent 6 weeks traveling through Japan, China, Hong Kong, Thailand – on a budget of around 40/50 dollars a night for accommodation – and it was one the best trips of my life.  The key is to be prepared and open minded. Here’s my tips for making the most of your next trip!

Pack Light.

It sounds obvious – and I’m notoriously terrible at following my own advice on this one, but I never regret calculated packing.

  • Co-ordinate your clothes. Don’t take any single statement piece that only works when worn a particular way. It’s a really good idea to go with a particular theme of colour series, like white/navy/red/denim or neutral tones that compliment one another. It’s really helpful to be able to mix and match everything and this way, you can bring just one or two coats/jackets that match with everything.  I read somewhere once that Chloe Sevigny packs mostly white clothing when she goes on vacation. Solid advice.
  • Don’t bother with heels. I say this because you can’t truly be a great explorer when you’re foot is at such an awkward angle, it’s not healthy. If you want to make the best out of your destination then comfort is key! The sad truth of heels, as wonderful and beautiful and ‘I need to have them’ as they are – they are really bad for your feet.
  • On that note – make sure you pack comfortable clothes/shoes, but have just one option that works for the odd chance you go somewhere nice, like a restaurant or a club. I’ve been caught out on holidays being too casual and have ended up wearing dirty white plimsoles to a nice restaurant. Doesn’t matter that much really – but it would have felt more special to be a little neater!
  • Roll everything up – and be aware of ‘creasy’ clothing. I wouldn’t recommend packing too many things that crease easily, its such a hassle and some places won’t have the option of an iron to tidy your clothes. Rolling your clothes up helps a bit with creases, but also allows you to move your items around your case and find them easily. It’s like fashion tetris.

Talk to the locals.

Seriously, wherever you get the chance to do so. Ask for tips from your cab driver, ask questions from people on the bus, stop people on the street if you have to! People who are local to the area know all the secrets about where to go and what to visit – and they can help your avoid tourist traps!

You could even make some new friends by being open to talking to people. Whilst I was in Osaka, my friends and I were wandering around looking for a bar to have a drink in, we asked a couple on the street and they invited us to follow them to a bar they were headed to. When we arrived it was this incredible little hole in the wall with wooden benches and walls, a bit like a sauna. It was apparently the birthday of the owner and my friends and I ended up right in the middle of the party, warmly welcomed by everyone but not understanding what on earth was going on. We had an amazing night ‘lost in translation’ style – drinking sake and attempting to sing along to Japanese songs we didn’t know.

You can’t get spontaneous experiences like that one without being ready to just walk up to people and starting conversations.

Be damn well researched.

While I’m quite the advocate of free-styling and being open minded when it comes to scheduling, I do believe its a mistake to arrive in a city without some understanding of the layout i.e. knowing which areas are good to stay in and what you’re in for, culturally.  A few pieces of knowledge you should have in your back pocket before you arrive.

  • Culture, is there anything in particular you should be respecting – for example, in Japan there are plenty of places you shouldn’t be wearing shoes and in places like around the middle east, it’s disrespectful (and expect to be disrespected for it) to wear anything too revealing.
  • Know which areas are good to stay in – and also which ones are bad! The goal should be to have good transport walking distance from your accommodations, or even better – be walking distance from the city centre and all the best sights.
  • I would have a few good restaurants and cafes up your sleeve in case you get stuck to find places to eat, it can be tough to find places that are both good and reasonably priced. Check out more sites than just Trip Advisor which can lead you to some tourist trap style places. Eating great food can be a reason to travel in itself, so don’t skip this one out!
  • Check the methods of getting to and from the airport and train stations – and whether just jumping in any cab is safe. Sometimes cab drivers will rip you off, which is the worse feeling! Even here in Stockholm, there’s a few cab companies that have decent fixed pricing and some independent drivers who’ll up to three times at much!! I feel sorry for the tourists who aren’t aware of the difference, some of those cabs can charge nearly 300 dollars to get to the airport…

Jimmy-11

Get outside.

The first thing you need to do when arriving in any city is acquaint yourself with your surrounds – and ground yourself after your journey. It’s amazing how you can really gauge the feel for a place by traipsing around on foot. I recently traveled to Belgrade for work and even though I only had small chances to walk around, doing so really helped me understand better the city life and the mood of the people. It’s all about getting intimate with your surroundings!

On that note – if you can ride a bike, it’s really the best way to soak up more of the urban environment and get around. Cycling gives you a particular kind of freedom – plus you can get a daily dose of exercise which is helpful for energy levels while travelling. Win Win.

Do the geeky stuff.

Take bus tours, visit museums and galleries and check out historical landmarks. Take loads of photos!

Plenty of cities have museums for free – like London. Visiting galleries in London is my idea of the perfect day out – my favourite is the Natural History Museum, the exhibits are so impressive. It’s actually a great undertaking if you’re solo because you can wander at your own pace and take in anything that interests you. Get lost in history and your own imagination… and then have a picnic in the park. So great!

Anyway, I know there’s probably loads more to include here – this is what I’ve got so far based on the context of my experiences. Wishing you all loads of fabulous memories from your next holiday x

A Hat to Save Your Bad Hair Day

Outfit-129d

Well I truly haven’t had a bad hair day on this day – but I often do! I used to be a mad wearer of baseball caps, but it doesn’t really work with my style these days – which errs towards being a little more feminine.

And before I go on further! Yes I should have ironed my jeans… but unfortunately I just don’t care enough. #sorrynotsorry

So I shot this outfit this morning, right before I took off to the airport to head back to Australia (where I’m currently seated). I truthfully don’t want to go because Gustav and I are in the middle of unpacking and renovating (what a mess!) our new apartment. I’m excited to have a new area to shoot all my outfit posts in, isn’t this spot dreamy? For my, a good location is all about colour and graphics. Even the most surburban and unremarkable locations can be interesting for a photo.

Outfit-129gI ‘m loving exploring our new suburb! And very much looking forward to sharing more on our home decoration endeavours.

This next week is filled with Australian fashion week preparations, filming for Fashion Bloggers and I whole load of events. Gustav arrives in Sydney on Friday and I’m super glad we don’t need to be apart for such long amounts of time. We are working together full time as of the end of April.

So excited to take the site into the next chapter!

Anyway, I need to board this plane. Look forward to sharing more over the next couple weeks!
